Make daily egg collection faster and easier with the Quadruple External Hanging Rollaway Nesting Box. Designed to mount on the outside wall of your chicken coop, this spacious model provides four separate nesting compartments and is suitable for flocks of up to 16 hens.

Your hens access the nesting areas from inside the coop, while the enclosed body and protected egg collection trays remain outside. This allows you to gather fresh eggs without entering the coop or disturbing your flock.

Once an egg is laid, the gently sloped nesting tray allows it to roll forward beneath the green collection lid. The egg remains safely out of reach until you are ready to collect it, helping reduce pecking, egg eating, dirty eggs and accidental breakages.

Convenient outside egg collection

Would you like to collect eggs without walking through bedding, mud or manure? Because this nesting box hangs on the outside of the coop, the egg collection compartments are accessible from outside.

Simply lift the green lids to check and empty each tray. This makes daily egg collection quicker and causes less disruption to hens using the nesting areas.

Outside collection is particularly useful during wet weather, before work or when children are helping with the daily egg check.

Cleaner and safer eggs

Freshly laid eggs left inside a traditional nest can be exposed to dirty feet, manure, pecking and accidental damage.

The rollaway system allows each egg to move away from the hen and into a separate protected compartment. This can help:

Ventilated for greater comfort

Openings in the sides and plastic nesting trays promote airflow through each compartment. Good ventilation helps create a fresher and more comfortable environment for laying hens.

The netted plastic trays also allow loose feathers, dust and small pieces of debris to fall through rather than accumulating around the nesting surface.

Removable and easy to clean

Each plastic nesting insert can be removed for cleaning. Shake away loose debris before washing the trays with warm water and a mild animal-safe detergent or disinfectant.

Allow the inserts to dry completely before reinstalling them. The metal body can be wiped down as required, making the entire nesting box easier to maintain than many traditional timber designs.

Installation tips

The nest box is designed to hang securely over suitable hen-access openings in the outside wall of your chicken coop.

Choose a quiet, shaded and sheltered location protected from heavy rain, strong wind and harsh afternoon sun. Attach the nesting box to a strong, flat wall using appropriate fixings for your coop’s construction.

The unit must be properly supported and installed level so eggs can roll smoothly into each collection compartment.

After installation, give your hens several days to become familiar with their new nests. Clean nest liners and imitation eggs can help encourage them to begin laying inside.
