Made with the health and happiness of your chickens in mind, our treat is packed with beneficial ingredients that offer a range of benefits:
Oregano – Oregano is thought to be a natural antibiotic and help combat diseases in your chooks such as coccidiosis, E-coli, bronchitis, and salmonella. Also packed with vitamins, including E and K, plus calcium and antioxidants to naturally boost their immune system.
Parsley – Parsley is a nutritional powerhouse and contains vitamins A, B, C, E, and K, as well as calcium, iron, magnesium, selenium, and zinc. It aids in blood-vessel development and also stimulates egg-laying.
Shell Grit – Shell-Grit assists with calcium deficiency and soft eggshells (thin shell or no shell) as well as assists in preventing chickens from attacking their own eggs to obtain calcium.
Split Peas – These are high in fibre, and contain a good range of vitamins and minerals like Vitamin K, iron, magnesium, calcium, iron, and potassium. Peas are a good source of soluble fibers, which promote intestinal transit, and vegetable protein. They are also abundant in magnesium, necessary for protein synthesis.
Black Soldier Fly Larvae – Black soldier fly larvae are about 50 per cent protein and a rich source of vital nutrients, such as calcium. Since protein is necessary for feather growth and egg production, it’s clear how beneficial these yummy treats are for hens. The extra calcium will help your flock lay better eggs.
Cracked Corn – Corn is great to add to your chicken’s diet in winter to give them an energy boost and warm them up!
Cryptoxanthin is a colour pigment present in corn that helps give egg yolks a yellow colour. Corn or maize is used in the diet of poultry, parrots, pigs, sheep, & horses. Corn tends to be lower in protein but a higher energy source than other grains.
Wheat – Some experts believe feeding whole wheat feeds to chickens improves their digestive tracts, increasing the birds’ ability to resist coccidiosis challenge
Suitable to mix in with everyday feed or use as a treat.
This should not replace your usual feed regime
